GÉRALDINE IS AN INDEPENDENT INSTRUCTOR IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Géraldine started diving in 2003 during a holliday in Thailand while still working as an environmental research scientist in France. Diving quickly became a passion and was taking away most of her free time. While still working as a chemist, she had her first experience as a Divemaster for a full season on a greek Island. In 2010 Géraldine finally decides to become a dive instructor and a cave diver and traveled to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. What was supposed to be a working holiday before going back to the lab as a chemist became a lifestyle, a full time job and a passion. She immediately became a full time Dive instructor, and her free time was then dedicated to cave diving, dry caving and cave exploration (both underwater and dry).
Géraldine’s passion for cave diving just kept growing. For two years she was diving both back mount and side mount configuration in a self made harness. Then in 2013 she started diving the Razor and took a basic Sidemount course with HP Hartmann. Then the Razor quickly became the one and only configuration for cave diving, ocean diving and technical diving.
Géraldine is on her way to become a cave instructor and share the passion. She has never stopped training and is also a technical diver. She thinks that to give the best to your student you have to dive at a higher level than the one you teach. Taking classes and being a student herself is the best reminder that a skill so natural to the instructor can be very demanding to the student, and that makes her a very patient instructor.
She has a great passion in cave geology and biology and strongly believes that it is an important part of any diving and the best motivation to master trim, buoyancy and many more skills.
Finally being a Razor instructor appeared like the best way to teach quality courses. She strongly adheres to the philosophy Razor of learning it right from the beginning: learn the right procedures, train them, get practice and build upon them all along your diver career.
GERALDINE LOVES TO SHARE HER PASSION FOR DIVING AND CAVES WITH HER STUDENTS. SHE WANTS THEM TO DIVE SAFELY AND AWARE OF CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION CONCERNS.
